Help ons editie 2016 een succes te maken
Op 22 september 2016 zal OSGeo.be een een Open GIS conferentie organiseren in Brussel in BEL, het leefmilieu en energieagentschap van Brussel. FOSS4G-BE wordt een dag van presentaties, demo's, debatten over OSGeo thema's. Het is ook een kans om de gemeenschap van gebruikers, ontwikkelaars, beleidsmaker en andere geïnteresseerden samen te brengen.
De bedoeling van de dag is om tussen de 240 en 400 mensen samen te brengen
We zullen kennis en ervaringen delen gedurende de hele dag met presentaties en demo's van maximaal 25 minuten.
Presentations and side tracks
We will be having 3 parallel streams
Plenary Side Track Dev Track
Plenary sessions will be show cases of FOSS4G usages within business, administration, education and research.
The side track will be dedicated to interactive demonstrations for IT-Officers, with more concrete issues linked to the introduction and use of FOSS4G into a specific institutional environment.
The dev track will be a sort of dev room and presentation of latest developments within FOSS4G.
Are you an expert in GIS ?
Did you used OSGeo’s tools in a specific context - large SDI, Big Data, specific customer, innovative project, etc. - for your own business, research or for education?
If you meet any of these, STOP and... feel free to suggest a presentation!

Foss4G softwareWat zijn de huidige mogelijkheden voor de opslag, analyse en visualisatie van ruimtelijke data? Hoe kan je met succes Open Source gebruiken om software aan te passen aan je behoeften?
Doelen: Hoe kan OSGeo in jouw organisatie gebruikt worden? Hoe kan een effectieve Open Source oplossing gebouwd worden? Hoe kan er tussen verschillende oplossingen gekozen worden?
Toepassingen: Welke open source GIS programma's worden uitgerold en gebruikt door administraties, bedrijven, onderwijs en onderzoek? Hoe zit het met infrastructuur voor INSPIRE, klimaatsverandering en smart cities? Wat zijn problemen en mogelijkheden die U bent tegengekomen tijdens de migratie/het samenwerken met proprietary software?
Format of presentations
Presentation will take place both in English and in the major official languages of Belgium: Dutch and French.
Each individual presentation will be allowed about 20 minutes and 5 minutes for Q&A.
Submissions can be written in English, French or Dutch (and adhere to the template available soon in ODT format).
Submission
Summaries must be sent by e-mail to the following address: presentation@foss4g.be by specifying the following elements:
- Your name and first name;
- A contact email;
- Your company (organization) and/or employer;
- Your intervention's title;
- A short abstract (200 characters max.) + A long description (700 characters max.);
- The nature of your intervention (Explanatory / Application / Demonstration);
Deadline
Datum: ten laatste op 24 Juli Abstracts will be evaluated by a program committee and authors will be notified of their acceptance on the first week of August.
All the presentations will be made available on the event website.
How do we evaluate
The choice of presentations will be based on the quality of the submitted material, its interest for professional and student audiences and also its consistency with the program. The decision of the selection committee will be final and binding. Committee members speak on their own behalf, their choices do not reflect the position of their employer.
The Dutch and French coordinators of the program committee are Johan Van de Wauw (NL) and Gaël Kruwialis (FR).
